In a significant professional milestone this year, Sidharth Malhotra ventured into the world of OTT with his debut in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force. Reflecting on his journey a decade after making his Bollywood debut in 2012, the actor shared insights into his early days in the industry, expressing a desire for more knowledge back then.
When questioned about the transformation in his life from the age of 29, when he entered the film industry, Malhotra remarked, “Ten years ago, when I started, I was very naive. I wish I had the knowledge and experiences that I have now. Initially, you struggle as an assistant director, and then you get a big break, feeling immensely grateful. The first film chooses you, but afterward, you have to choose your films, the people you work with, and manage the associated stress. Looking back, I wish I wasn’t so black and white and naive. It takes time, and this industry shapes you.”
Recalling his life at 19, the actor shared, “At 19, I was just a typical Delhi boy enjoying himself; I used to play rugby as well. The Bollywood dream seemed distant because I had no idea how one could come to Mumbai and find work in the industry. However, I was already facing the camera as a model at that time, enjoying the experience and having more fun in life. Now, after 20 years, I still feel like I’m living my dream, and I consider myself blessed and lucky.”
