Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan’s upcoming film SK25 is officially titled Parasakthi. The makers of the Sudha Kongara directorial unveiled a gripping title teaser, showcasing SK as a student political leader and Ravi as a ruthless antagonist.
The film also features Atharvaa Murali in a supporting role, while Sreeleela marks her Tamil debut. Parasakthi is reportedly based on the anti-Hindi agitation movement that took place in Tamil Nadu. The film was initially announced by Sutha Kongara as Puranaanooru, with Suriya in the lead.
The original version was set to feature Nazriya Nazim, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Varma, and several others in key roles. It was also supposed to mark Suriya and Sudha’s second collaboration after Soorarai Pottru. However, the project was later shelved, with Suriya moving ahead with Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj.
In light of this, Sudha Kongara likely proceeded with the project, casting Sivakarthikeyan as the lead instead. Reportedly, Atharvaa Murali replaced Dulquer Salmaan’s role, while Ravi Mohan stepped into the antagonist’s role, which was initially speculated to be played by Vijay Varma.
The film also features Sreeleela as the female lead, marking her Tamil debut. Additionally, actor Vishal and director Lokesh Kanagaraj were reportedly considered for key roles earlier, but the former denied any such rumors.
