Popular Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa, admired for her stellar performances in regional cinema, has garnered a significant fan following eagerly anticipating her Bollywood debut. Addressing her absence from Hindi films, Bajwa recently emphasized her commitment to waiting for a compelling script before making the leap.
In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Bajwa clarified misconceptions surrounding her reluctance to venture into Bollywood, stating, “I am waiting for a good script. See, some films I said no to and then, of late, I have heard from people that many don’t know I live in Mumbai. So they think that since I don’t stay here, I don’t want to work in Hindi films. Having said that, if there is a good script offered to me, I would love to do Hindi films.”
Despite making a cameo appearance in the 2019 film ‘Bala,’ which hinted at her potential in Bollywood, Bajwa has not actively pursued major roles in the industry. However, she expressed her aspiration to work in South Indian cinema as well, citing her desire to diversify her portfolio and explore different languages.
Bajwa’s interest in collaborating with fellow Punjabi actor Ammy Virk in Hindi films was also revealed during the interview, adding to the anticipation surrounding her potential Bollywood projects.
Currently engrossed in promoting her upcoming film ‘Kudi Haryane Val Di,’ co-starring Ammy Virk, Bajwa’s fans eagerly await its release on June 14th.
