In a thrilling development for fans of the blockbuster film War, the eagerly anticipated sequel has started filming with a bang. The original movie, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, was one of the biggest hits of 2019. Now, as part of Aditya Chopra’s expanding Spy Universe, the stakes are even higher for War 2.
Taking the helm as director for the second installment is Ayan Mukerji, who steps in for Siddharth Anand. Aditya Chopra and Mukerji are sparing no effort to ensure War 2 is a cinematic spectacle on a grand scale.
The sequel has already made waves by casting Jr NTR as the antagonist, squaring off against Hrithik Roshan’s character, Agent Kabir. The film recently began production with an action-packed scene. In a major coup for the production, international action director Spiro Razatos has been brought on board to choreograph the film’s stunts. Razatos is renowned for his work on high-octane films like Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The First Soldier, F9: The Fast Saga, and most recently, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
A source close to the production revealed, “Aditya has big plans for the franchise and the entire Spy Universe. He aims to elevate the franchise to an international level, which is why they’ve enlisted a globally acclaimed action director for War 2.” Both Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR have committed around 60 days to the film’s shooting schedule, with 20-25 days set aside for scenes featuring both actors.
Following War 2, the Spy Universe is set to expand further with Alia Bhatt’s upcoming spy film featuring Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor. Additionally, rumors suggest that Pathaan 2 could also commence production by the end of 2024.
