In a poignant tribute, the creators of the acclaimed film ‘Aadujeevitham’ have commemorated the first death anniversary of the late production designer, Sunil Babu. Today, January 5, 2024, marks a year since his untimely demise at the age of 50 due to a cardiac arrest in 2023.
The leading actor, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and the entire ‘Aadujeevitham’ team released a special video dedicated to Sunil Babu. The heartfelt footage showcases glimpses of the talented production designer immersed in his creative work.
Taking to social media, the team expressed their sentiments, stating, “The man who, with a beaming smile, brought imagination to life! Even after a year, the loss still hurts deeply in our hearts. The Goat Life crew honors your significant contribution to Indian cinema today.”
Sunil Babu, a native of Kerala’s Pathanamthitta, was not only a key member of the ‘Aadujeevitham’ team but also a Kerala State Film Award winner. Recognized for his exceptional work in the drama film ‘Ananthabhadram,’ Babu began his career as an assistant to production designer Sabu Cyril. His extensive portfolio included contributions to Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Bollywood films, with notable projects such as ‘Lakshya,’ ‘Police,’ ‘Iqbal,’ ‘Ghajini,’ ‘Notebook,’ ‘Chota Mumbai,’ ‘Villu,’ ‘Casanova,’ and ‘Bangalore Days.’ His final works before his unfortunate demise encompassed ‘Sita Ramam,’ ‘Bheeshma Parvam,’ ‘Varisu,’ and ‘Mumbaikar,’ among others.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who leads the cast in ‘Aadujeevitham,’ emphasized that his film choices are rooted in art rather than politics. The film, directed by Blessy, continues to garner attention for its artistic merits and performances.
