In a relentless pursuit of delivering exceptional films, Mammootty’s latest venture, ‘Bramayugam,’ proves to be a remarkable addition to his repertoire. The trailer for the upcoming horror thriller was unveiled at an event held at Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi, where Mammootty himself launched it on Saturday evening.
The film, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, known for his acclaimed work in ‘Bhoothakaalam,’ features a stellar cast including Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, and Manikandan R Achari in pivotal roles. Mammootty, likely portraying a negative character, takes the audience back to the dark ages of Kerala in ‘Bramayugam,’ aptly tagged as “The Age of Madness.”
Shot entirely in black-and-white, the trailer captivates with its chilling and exhilarating scenes, complemented by Mammootty’s menacing vocals. The narrative unfolds in Bramayugam, a worsened era of Kaliyugam, where the game of dice becomes a metaphor for the unpredictability of life.
The dialogues, crafted by TD Ramakrishnan, add depth to the storyline, while the technical aspects are handled by a skilled team. Shehnad Jalal ISC handles cinematography, Shafique Mohamed Ali is the editor, and Jothish Shankar is in charge of art direction. The music is composed by Christo Xavier, with Jayadevan Chakkadath handling sound design and M R Rajakrishnan overseeing sound mix.
‘Bramayugam’ is slated for release on Thursday, February 15, and will be presented in a black-and-white format. Recently censored with a U/A certificate from the CBFC, the film boasts a runtime of 139.42 minutes. Audiences can anticipate the film’s release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages, promising a captivating cinematic experience across regions.
