In a recent exclusive book launch event, Twinkle Khanna introduced her latest literary creation, ‘Welcome to Paradise.’ Describing the compilation as a series of narratives delving into the complexities of heartbreak, relationships, and deception, this marks Khanna’s fourth venture into the world of publishing. Her previous works include ‘Mrs Funnybones,’ ‘Pyjamas are Forgiving,’ and ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.’
The launch, attended by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, took an unexpected turn when he posed a thought-provoking question to his wife. Addressing the predominance of female characters in the book, Kumar asked, “All the main characters are women (in your book). So I just want to know whether men are irrelevant?” Twinkle responded with humor, stating, “You need dessert, so men are important for us to enjoy ourselves and indulge, and I think that a lot of this and that, including going to study. I would not be able to do it if he hadn’t supported me the way he has.”
Twinkle later shared a clip from the event on social media, recounting the moment and asking readers if they felt men were irrelevant while reading the book. She wrote, “At the book launch, he stumped me with this question about Welcome to Paradise, and my brain had to do a few cartwheels to come up with a suitable answer.”
Akshay Kumar expressed his pride in Twinkle’s accomplishments, sharing a photo of her with the new book and praising her resilience. He wrote, “Proud, prouder, proudest ♥️ That’s how you always make me feel, whether it’s taking up writing, going back to the university in your 40s, or just defying age and norms every chance you get. And today, as you launch your new book, #WelcomeToParadise, I just know it will add inches to my already big chest ???? Congratulations Tina ???? @twinklerkhanna.” In response, Twinkle commented, “You are the best ❤️.”
