In a much-anticipated revelation, the horror drama film ‘Bramayugam,’ starring Mammootty and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, is set to hit theaters on February 15. The film has already made a significant impact on the UK audience, with advance sales showing promising results.
According to updates from the Movie Planet Twitter forum, ‘Bramayugam’ has generated considerable buzz in the UK, selling an impressive total of 1,355 tickets across 53 locations and 72 shows. The advance sales have amounted to approximately £8,000.
Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the film’s narrative unfolds in the ancient backdrop of Kerala, delving into the realms of Tantra and Maya as integral parts of daily life. The story revolves around Thevan, played by Arjun Ashokan, a folklore singer from the Paanan caste. The lower caste’s occupation involves singing hymns praising gods and rulers. Thevan’s life takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a mysterious tradition.
Shot in black and white, ‘Bramayugam’ features Mammootty in the role of the antagonist, adding an intriguing layer to the horror narrative. The ensemble cast includes Arjun Ashokan, Siddharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz, each contributing to the film’s promising storyline.
