In a significant career shift, actor Vijay has recently released his inaugural political video, marking his official entry into the realm of politics. The actor had previously disclosed his decision to exit the film industry and embrace a full-time political role. Vijay has already unveiled his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).
In the video, Vijay initiates the groundwork for his party’s membership drive, encouraging interested individuals and youth to sign up through various digital platforms and utilize the party’s app for membership registration after taking a solemn oath.
Expressing his intentions to contest in the 2026 state assembly elections, Vijay details the membership process, highlighting the requirement of a Voter ID and OTP for joining the party. The actor personally demonstrates joining the party through the phone app, becoming its inaugural member. He calls upon his fans to adhere to the party’s motto and introduces key members of the party committee, including Vijayalakshmi, Yasmin, Sambathkumar, Vijay Anban, and Prabhu.
On the professional front, Vijay, last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’, is currently filming ‘Greatest of All Time’ directed by Venkat Prabhu. The shoot is expected to conclude by April, with a scheduled release later this year. As Vijay transitions into a full-time political career, his retirement from the entertainment industry prompts speculation about his final film, yet to be determined.
