Telugu film ‘Salaar’ hit theaters on December 22, receiving positive responses at the box office. Actress Sriya Reddy, who played the pivotal role of Radha Rama, shared her thoughts on the film and expressed confusion regarding Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ in a recent interview.
In the interview, Reddy revealed that despite the success of ‘Salaar,’ she found herself perplexed after watching ‘Ponniyin Selvan.’ Directed by Mani Ratnam, the Tamil film is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s fictional novel. Starring a stellar cast including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhitha Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Pathiban, and Rahman, the movie’s first and second parts collectively grossed over Rs 1000 crore at the box office.
During the roundtable interview, Reddy expressed her confusion about ‘Ponniyin Selvan,’ stating that she found the storyline unclear. She clarified that her opinion was based on her personal understanding and emphasized that she did not comprehend the film.
The discussion arose in response to a statement from the producer of ‘Baahubali,’ who mentioned providing a small preview of films if involved in producing ‘Salaar’ or ‘KGF.’
On the professional front, Sriya Reddy has ‘Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire’ in her recent filmography. Additionally, she is set to appear in ‘Salaar Part 2 Shouryanga Parvam,’ ‘OG,’ and ‘Aandava Kaanom’ in the near future.
