Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, known for their collaborations on hit films like ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and ‘Bharat’, recently opened up about their relationship and working dynamics.
Ali Abbas Zafar, whose latest film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff is currently in theatres, disclosed that he and Akshay had approached Salman for permission to release their film on Eid. Salman Khan has traditionally released his movies around Eid for several years.
Speaking to Mashable in a recent interview, Ali described Salman as “an industry in himself” and praised him for being “the most secure person.” He emphasized that seeking permission, especially from a senior figure like Salman, doesn’t diminish one’s significance in the industry. Ali revealed that they reached out to Salman to discuss his Eid release plans. Salman responded graciously, indicating that the Eid date was not reserved for him and gave them his blessing to go ahead without his approval.
Despite a few disagreements or “tussles” over the years, Ali emphasized that his bond with Salman remains strong and unharmed. He credited Salman for his success, saying, “Today whatever I am, I am because of Salman Khan. The way he has contributed to my career is phenomenal. We have a great understanding, but it doesn’t mean we are always ‘happy-happy’. We have had our disagreements. However, the relationship I have with him is 100% genuine. He knows if I have acted out of emotion, at the time it was correct. I also feel he is a lovely person.”
‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F in pivotal roles, was released on April 11 and is currently entertaining audiences in theatres.
