South Indian superstar Allu Arjun is set to attend the Berlin Film Festival for the screening of ‘Pushpa Part 1: The Rise’, marking his debut in Germany and the film festival circuit.
Arjun, renowned for the success of the ‘Pushpa’ franchise, which debuted in 2021, spoke about the upcoming expansion plans during a media interaction. He expressed excitement about the international screening of a sizzle reel from the ‘Pushpa’ franchise at the Berlin European Film Market, aiming to establish it as a brand for global audiences.
The actor shared insights into his anticipation of experiencing how international audiences perceive Indian cinema and understanding the dynamics of film festivals. Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1’ follows the ascent of Pushpa Raj, portrayed by Arjun, within a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate, facing off against a determined police officer.
After achieving success in India and diaspora markets, the film gained further popularity when it started streaming on Prime Video. Allu Arjun highlighted the substantial impact of OTT platforms, reaching a diverse audience and generating a significant buzz globally.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is scheduled for release on August 15, coinciding with Indian Independence Day. Arjun teased that the sequel would showcase a different side of Pushpa, with a grander scale, unique character development, and a more expansive canvas.
As the character Pushpa assumes control of the syndicate on a national and international level, Arjun hinted at an escalating conflict with police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil, promising a more intense showdown.
Looking beyond ‘Pushpa 2’, Allu Arjun mentioned having intriguing projects in the pipeline, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining an epic scale in his future ventures.
