Filmmaker Blessy is set to unveil his most ambitious project, ‘Aadujeevitham’, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, on March 28. After dedicating around 16 years to nurturing this film, all eyes are eagerly awaiting its release.
Interestingly, Blessy began his directorial journey with none other than Mammootty. His directorial debut came in 2004 with ‘Kazhcha’, a film centered around a six-year-old boy separated from his family and hometown following the devastating 2001 Gujarat earthquake. Starring Mammootty, Padmapriya, Yash Gawli, and Sanusha, the movie is a poignant tale of humanity and compassion. It received critical acclaim and went on to win four Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Director and Actor.
Impressed by Mammootty’s performance, Blessy collaborated with the actor again in 2006 for ‘Palunku’, a heart-wrenching film starring Mammootty, Lakshmi Sharma, Nazriya Nazim, and Nivedita.
It’s worth noting that Mohanlal is one of Blessy’s favorite actors, adding another interesting dimension to the director’s cinematic journey.
‘Aadujeevitham’, directed by Blessy, is an adaptation of the eponymous, best-selling novel by Benyamin. Speaking about the film, Blessy said, “The greatest challenge in front of me was that ‘The Goat Life’ is a subject with universal appeal, and I would have to stay true to its narrative style. The novel is based on some real incidents, and I want to captivate the viewers with each moment that something unbelievable happens to someone. The truth has never been stranger than fiction. The scale of the movie demands to be felt within the confines of a theater, and we are excited to bring this magnum opus to audiences around the world.”
