of her upcoming superhero action thriller, ‘Madame Web’.
In a recent statement, it was revealed that ‘Madame Web’ explores the standalone origin story of one of Marvel’s most mysterious heroines. The suspenseful thriller features Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan endowed with the ability to foresee the future. As she grapples with this newfound power, Webb endeavors to alter destiny itself. The narrative takes a compelling turn as she confronts revelations about her own past, forming a connection with three young women whose destinies hang in the balance, contingent on their survival in a perilous present.
In an official statement, Johnson shed light on her character, stating, “When you meet Madame Web in this movie, it’s her origin story. It’s how Cassie became Madame Web. So we start when she’s a young woman. Ultimately in the comics, she ends up being an old woman who develops a neurodegenerative disease. But since we are starting way back when, she’s a paramedic; she’s kind of an everyday hero, she is an independent and complex woman.”
Directed by SJ Clarkson, ‘Madame Web’ boasts an ensemble cast including Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.
Amid discussions on Hollywood’s nepotism debate, Dakota Johnson dismisses it as ‘BORING’.
‘Madame Web’ is scheduled to hit theaters on February 16, offering audiences an immersive experience in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
