Kannada television industry mourns the loss of Pavithra Jayaram, a prominent actress known for her roles in both Kannada and Telugu entertainment sectors. Pavithra tragically passed away in a car accident on May 12, 2024, near Mehbooba Nagar in Andhra Pradesh.
Originally from Karnataka, Pavithra’s acting journey began after holding various jobs to support her family financially. She gained recognition with roles in Kannada serials like ‘Jokali’, ‘Robot Family’, and ‘Galipata’. In 2018, she made her Telugu TV debut with ‘Ninne Pelladatha’ and gained immense popularity for her role as Thilottama in the hit show ‘Trinayani’.
Pavithra was married to actor Chandrakanth, her second husband, and the couple was well-loved in the industry. The news of her passing has deeply affected her colleagues and fans alike, with actor Sameeip Acharyaa expressing disbelief and sorrow.
The tragic accident occurred around 1 am while Pavithra was traveling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad with her sister Apeksha and husband Chandrakanth. Their vehicle reportedly lost control, colliding with a divider and subsequently being struck by an oncoming bus. Pavithra succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while her sister, husband, and the driver sustained serious injuries.
