Renowned filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon’s much-anticipated project, ‘Dhruva Natchathiram,’ has been marred by a series of setbacks since its initial announcement in 2013. Plagued by financial troubles and various challenges, the film is yet to see the light of day in theaters.
In a recent interview with Film Companion South, Gautham Vasudev Menon shared his profound disappointment over the last-minute cancellation of the film’s release. Describing the experience as “heartbreaking,” the filmmaker-turned-actor admitted to the toll it took on his mental well-being, causing restlessness that even affected his family. Gautham’s wife, typically unworried about his professional endeavors, notably stood by him for an extended period, recognizing the visible distress her husband was going through.
The emotional strain on Gautham was palpable, as he expressed feeling hollow and constantly sinking. Initially aspiring to travel and write, he found himself entangled in the aftermath of the film’s delay, particularly in dealing with new investors seeking answers.
Amidst the challenges, Gautham Vasudev Menon is pinning hopes on his upcoming film, ‘Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha,’ poised for a theatrical release soon.
The much-anticipated ‘Dhruva Natchathiram,’ initially slated for release on November 24, faced a last-minute hurdle when Gautham received a court order the day before, mandating a payment of 2.40 crores by 10:30 in the morning for a smooth release. The action-packed film stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, with Vinayakan, Ritu Varma, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Simran, Maya S Krishnan, and Parthiban in supporting roles. The music for the film is composed by Harris Jayaraj.
