In a remarkable turn of events, Mohan M Gowda, a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the marketing industry, has found success in the Kannada film industry at the age of 58. His breakthrough came with the film “Roberrt” in 2021, and he has recently graced the screen in Tharun Sudhir’s “Kaatera.”
Gowda’s journey into acting is not a newfound passion. He had dabbled in acting during the early 90s in a few Malayalam productions but eventually shifted his focus to a more stable career to support his family. Reflecting on his journey, Gowda shares, “Once you get married and have kids, the pressure for a stable lifestyle mounts. I had to leave my aspirations of becoming a hero behind and focus on my day job.” With his family now settled, he felt empowered to pursue his acting dreams once again.
Gowda’s entry into the film industry at a later stage in life does not faze him; instead, he views his age as a unique selling point. “My age makes me a good choice for versatile roles. I can play a villain and a villain’s dad at the same time,” he proudly declares. Embracing this late-career shift, Gowda is determined to stay in shape and fully commit to his newfound passion.
In response to questions about any concerns regarding his age, Gowda confidently asserts, “There are people who have started businesses at 70 and become successful. In comparison, I am very young. However, I intend on making every day count and make a name for myself.”
Mohan M Gowda’s story serves as an inspiring testament to pursuing one’s dreams at any age and finding success in unexpected places.
