James Haven, brother of Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, recently disclosed his protective role in the lives of Jolie’s children following her high-profile separation from actor Brad Pitt, as reported by Page Six.
During a recent interview on the “90who10” podcast with co-host Jessica Entner, Haven discussed how he adapted his life to prioritize family support during Jolie’s publicized personal struggles.
“That’s where it all started, it started with the protection of her and her children — my nieces and nephews,” he shared, emphasizing his commitment to being present in their lives and providing support amid challenging circumstances.
Haven, aged 52, stressed the importance of being there for Jolie’s children, especially during their “massively formative years.” With the children entering early adulthood, he expressed a natural inclination to support and be present in any situation they may face.
“They’re becoming young adults early 20s,” he added, “I think it’s just very natural, and I just want to be there any time.”
The actor highlighted the significance of spending time with Jolie’s children, Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (18), Shiloh (17), and twins Knox and Vivienne (15), whenever the opportunity arises.
Following the divorce of Jolie, 48, and Pitt, 60, in 2016 after 12 years of marriage, details emerged about a heated argument during a private jet journey with their children in 2016. Court documents obtained by Page Six in October 2022 suggested Pitt’s alleged physical altercation with the children, including choking and striking, as well as pouring beer and red wine on them.
Pitt admitted to raising his voice but denied physical harm, attributing it to a confrontation that escalated. Sources close to the actor claimed he may have been drinking during the incident.
The insider portrayed Jolie’s filing as a smear campaign, while Jolie herself acknowledged in September the need for healing for her and the children post-breakup. Despite initially being granted joint custody in May 2021, the ruling was overturned a month later, leaving the custody of the minor children unresolved. The former couple was officially declared single in 2019, as reported by Page Six.
