During the promotion of her latest film “Murder Mubarak,” Karisma Kapoor surprised fans by revealing that her name is actually pronounced as ‘Karizzma,’ not ‘Karishma.’ Despite fans mispronouncing her name for years, Karisma doesn’t seem to mind. Her sister, Kareena Kapoor, recently addressed this long-standing confusion and offered a simple solution: “Just call her Lolo.”
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Kareena Kapoor expressed her laid-back approach to the name confusion, stating, “I go with the flow. I go with whatever the interviewer asks me. I am like… yeah whatever. You love her, call her what you want. I think she’s also like… whatever… easy about it.” Kareena also shed light on why the mispronunciation might have occurred in the first place, saying, “A lot of people didn’t know, and they couldn’t pronounce because… What is Karisma versus Karishma? Karishma is like a miracle. I think she’s also like whatever you want to call me, but obviously, her name does not have an ‘H’ in it and it is just Karisma on her passport.”
“I think we can just call her Lolo, that’s so much easier right?” Kareena suggested, adding that this solution is “less controversial.” She concluded, “She’s so chill. It’s about the love and emotion but obviously, if you say what her name is in the passport, it is Karisma.”
On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor was last seen in the heist drama “Crew.” The film revolves around three flight attendants, portrayed by Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti, and their journey of discovering a dead passenger smuggling gold bars. The storyline develops as they decide to take the gold while their airline, Kohinoor, faces financial struggles.
Following “Crew,” Kareena is set to star in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again,” alongside Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff.
