In a recent interview with Zoom, ex-Miss World Manushi Chhillar addressed the scrutiny she and Akshay Kumar have faced due to their 30-year age gap. The duo, who previously worked together in “Samrat Prithviraj,” reunited for the recently released film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.”
Chhillar expressed her admiration for Akshay Kumar, stating, “Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing. In this film (‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’), there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing. So they had to put two people together for the songs, but that’s pretty much it, which is fine. I don’t see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn’t have been there. It wasn’t like a love story anyway.”
She also revealed her aspirations to work with younger actors in the future.
After making her acting debut in “Samrat Prithviraj,” Manushi Chhillar was also seen in “The Great Indian Family” alongside Vicky Kaushal. Following “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” where she starred alongside Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, and Alaya F, Chhillar’s upcoming project is “Tehran,” an action entertainer in which she shares the screen with John Abraham.
