Renowned actor and director Konkona Sensharma, known for her critically acclaimed debut in the directorial realm with the 2016 film “A Death in the Gunj” and the well-received segment “The Mirror” in the anthology series “Lust Stories 2” last year, recently shared insights into her future projects.
Expressing her cautious approach, the 44-year-old artist disclosed that she has concepts for both a series and a feature film. However, Sensharma emphasized that she won’t proceed with these ventures unless thoroughly convinced of their merit. “I don’t like to put any pressure on myself because if it does not turn out nicely, then I will be the first person to abandon it. My standards are quite high,” she conveyed to PTI.
While committed to her craft, Sensharma mentioned that she would not direct very frequently, highlighting the importance of being fully convinced in her projects. She expressed a strong aversion to directing something she’s not entirely sure about, as it could potentially waste time and resources.
In terms of her professional focus, Sensharma underscored her dedication to acting and her quest for well-written characters, a rare find in the industry. She recently discovered such a character in the Netflix crime show “Killer Soup,” directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
In “Killer Soup,” Sensharma portrays Swathi Shetty, an aspiring chef whose ambition is to share her paya soup with the world. However, a tragic accident triggers a chain of events, leading to hasty cover-ups that ensnare Swathi and her lover in a web of complications. The show, also featuring Manoj Bajpayee, is set to premiere on Netflix on January 11.
