In a recent interview with IANS, actress Madhuri Dixit shared insights into the collaborative efforts behind her latest Marathi production, ‘Panchak’, which she co-produced with her husband, Shriram Nene. Madhuri described their working dynamic, stating, “My job is the creative head. I look for scripts and handle casting, while Ram oversees the film’s finances, workflow, and budgeting. We function like the left brain and the right brain, dividing our responsibilities accordingly. It’s a great partnership.”
Speaking about ‘Panchak’, shot in the picturesque Konkan region of coastal Maharashtra, Madhuri revealed that the film is a situational comedy exploring the consequences faced by a family when an elder passes away under a Panchak – a period associated with five constellations believed to bring bad luck. The storyline delves into the lengths people go to undo such situations, with superstition and fear providing a comedic backdrop to their lives.
Produced by Madhuri Dixit and Shriram Nene under their banner RnM Moving Pictures, ‘Panchak’ is their second collaboration with PVR. The film promises to offer a unique perspective on the intersection of family dynamics, superstition, and humor.
