Molly Shannon, known for her roles in “Saturday Night Live” and recent projects like “The Other Two,” has joined the cast of the upcoming action comedy “Balls Up.” Directed by Peter Farrelly and produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance, the film stars Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.
Written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (“Deadpool,” “Wolverine”), the movie centers on two American marketing executives who, after losing their jobs due to a client sponsorship mishap, attend a major soccer match with free tickets. Their night of drunken antics escalates when they become targets across the country.
Shannon, a three-time Emmy nominee, has made notable appearances in various TV and film projects, including the HBO series “The White Lotus” and the Oscar-nominated “Promising Young Woman.” Her recent film credits include roles in “A Good Person,” “Spin Me Round,” and a recurring role in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
Producing the film are David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Andrew Muscato, Wernick, and Reese.
