In a poignant gesture, Prithviraj Sukumaran, the lead actor of the much-anticipated Malayalam film ‘Aadujeevitham’, directed by Blessy, reached out with a heartfelt message to the family of a late fan who had expressed a strong desire to watch the movie.
The film, which is based on the 2008 best-selling novel ‘Aadujeevitham’ by Benyamin, commenced its production journey in 2018. However, various challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, caused delays, leading to the completion of the shoot only in 2022. Finally, the movie premiered on the big screens on March 28, 2024, to a highly enthusiastic audience.
A throwback video of a fan expressing his eagerness to watch ‘Aadujeevitham’ has surfaced on social media. Tragically, the fan, who was an admirer of Prithviraj Sukumaran, passed away in 2021. In a touching tribute, his brother shared the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), catching the attention of the film’s star.
Touched by the gesture, Prithviraj Sukumaran responded to the family, saying, “I am so sorry for your loss, @rajeshwh. I hope he’s watching from somewhere and that we’ve made him proud!” The emotional exchange has resonated deeply with fans and the film’s audience.
Directed by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life)’ narrates the harrowing true-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer trapped in the brutal reality of slavery on a Saudi Arabian farm. The film has garnered widespread acclaim for its powerful depiction of modern-day slavery, winning over audiences and critics alike.
In terms of its box office performance, ‘Aadujeevitham’ has proven to be a hit, with the film collecting Rs 8.50 crore from India on its fourth day of release, surpassing its opening day figures.
