In the wake of the 2018 hit film ‘Stree,’ fans anxiously await the sequel of the horror comedy franchise featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. A recently-published book delving into Bollywood’s supernatural encounters reveals an unsettling incident during the shooting of the movie.
According to the book, while filming at an old fort in Bhopal—one rumored to be haunted—the crew received specific instructions to avoid wearing perfume, generating smoke, and being alone within the fortress. Despite these warnings, a lighting technician chose to sit apart from the group. During the shoot, a scream pierced the midnight air, leaving the crew on edge.
Rajkummar Rao, not present during the incident but informed about it later, shared that the lightman who fell claimed to have been pushed. Strangely, no one was around him at the time, yet he remained insistent about being pushed. Despite a thorough search, the responsible party could not be identified.
‘Stree,’ directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Raj Nidimoru, and Krishna DK, revolves around a female ghost haunting Chanderi for four days annually during a religious festival. Preying on young men wandering alone at night, she abducts them, leaving only their clothes behind. However, by the film’s conclusion, the feared entity transforms into the town’s protector. Reports suggest that ‘Stree 2’ will introduce new horror elements, focusing on a headless man.
