In a noteworthy collaboration following their success in Hulu’s “Pam & Tommy,” Sebastian Stan and Lily James are set to reunite for the upcoming psychological horror thriller “Let the Evil Go West.” Directed by Christian Tafdrup, known for his work on “Speak No Evil,” the film explores the eerie journey of a railroad worker who stumbles upon a fortune under unsettling circumstances, leading to horrifying visions and a descent into madness. As the plot thickens, his wife becomes convinced that an evil force has targeted their family.
The international rights for the film are represented by north.five.six. and will be presented to potential buyers at Cannes, with financing arranged by CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group for domestic distribution. The script for “Let the Evil Go West” is penned by Xc Vs. Tim and Trevor White, producers of acclaimed works like “King Richard” and “Fair Play,” are set to produce under their Star Thrower Entertainment banner, alongside Mark Fasano and Nathan Klingher for Gramercy Park Media, which is also financing the project, and Allan Mandelbaum. Executive producers include Stan, James, Gramercy Park’s Joshua Harris and Ford Corbett, as well as north.five.six.’s Michael Rothstein and Samuel Hall.
Stan, known for his role in “Pam & Tommy,” will also be seen in “A Different Man,” which earned him Berlin’s Silver Bear following its premiere at Sundance 2024. Additionally, he stars in Ali Abbassi’s “The Apprentice,” set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Meanwhile, James, whose recent works include “The Iron Claw” and “Finalmente l’alba,” is slated for upcoming projects like “Greedy People,” “Relay,” and a film inspired by the founder of the dating app Bumble.
Director Christian Tafdrup, recognized for his work on “Speak No Evil,” is also involved in the U.S. remake of the film. Star Thrower Entertainment is currently busy with productions such as David Freyne’s “Eternity” and Chad Hartigan’s “The Threesome.”
