In anticipation of its theatrical release on July 12th, “Indian 2” has begun its promotional blitz, with the cast and crew fully engaged. Actor Siddharth, known for his role in the 2003 film “Boys,” reunites with director Shankar for this sequel, where he plays a role that he describes as closely mirroring his real-life persona.
Speaking to India Today, Siddharth shared his experience of working alongside veteran actor Kamal Haasan, noting Haasan’s ability to elevate every scene. Reflecting on his character, Siddharth expressed admiration for Shankar’s script, which captures the common man’s frustrations and anger. He emphasized that his role in “Indian 2” is the most authentic portrayal of himself yet.
Directed by Shankar, “Indian 2” serves as a sequel to the acclaimed 1996 drama starring Kamal Haasan. The storyline continues Haasan’s character’s battle against corruption, with Siddharth joining a cast that includes SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film features music by Anirudh Ravichander and is set to be followed by a third installment, currently in production and slated for a 2025 release, featuring Kajal Aggarwal.
