In a recent development, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has initiated steps to suspend the driving license of renowned Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu. This action follows a road accident involving overspeeding on the Thammanam-Karanakodam road on the night of July 29, 2023, where Suraj was reportedly driving a speeding car. The collision resulted in injuries to a 31-year-old bike rider named Sarath from Manjeri, who suffered a fracture in his right big toe and injuries to other toes.
The Palarivattom police registered a case related to the accident and subsequently handed over the First Information Report (FIR) to the Motor Vehicle Department for further investigation.
As reported by On Manorama, Suraj Venjaramoodu has allegedly not responded to three notices from the MVD, prompting the department to take decisive action. The move to suspend Suraj’s driving license is a consequence of his failure to provide a satisfactory explanation for the accident and address the notices sent to him.
The Motor Vehicle Department emphasizes its commitment to prioritizing safety concerns and intends to enforce disciplinary measures to hold individuals accountable for traffic violations, particularly in cases resulting in injuries.
On a separate note, Suraj Venjaramoodu, known for his roles in the entertainment industry, was last seen in the comedy-drama film ‘Madanolsavam,’ which, despite positive reviews, did not leave a significant mark at the box office.
