Tiffany Haddish, the celebrated actress and comedian, has officially been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following her arrest this Thanksgiving. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, November 24, in Beverly Hills, California, according to aceshowbiz.com.
Beverly Hills Police Department’s watch commander informed Page Six that officers responded to a call about a vehicle on the roadway at 5:45 am. The driver, identified as Tiffany Haddish, was reportedly found “asleep behind the wheel.” Sources also revealed that her car was “stopped in lanes of traffic,” requiring other vehicles in the vicinity to navigate around it.
Video footage obtained by TMZ showed Tiffany being cooperative as she was placed in handcuffs and escorted to the back of a police vehicle. The actress was dressed in a floral red and white blouse, black leggings, and black sneakers.
This is not the first time Tiffany Haddish has faced a DUI charge. In January 2022, she was arrested for DUI and improper stopping on a roadway after being found dozing behind the wheel.
Despite her legal troubles, Haddish addressed the incident humorously during a performance at The Laugh Factory. Responding to an audience member’s inquiry about the events of the previous night, she quipped, “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job. A career. Preferably in a uniform. God answered my prayers.”
Acknowledging the need for change, Tiffany later expressed her intention to seek help. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight a few days after the incident, she stated, “I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries.”
