Vicky Kaushal’s unexpected appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s latest film ‘Dunki’ has sparked significant interest among movie enthusiasts. The renowned actor, celebrated for his diverse roles, recently shared insights into his decision to undertake a brief yet impactful role in the movie.
In an interview with The Week Magazine, Kaushal shed light on his motivation to collaborate once again with Hirani, following their successful partnership in ‘Sanju.’ Expressing profound admiration for Hirani’s directorial prowess, Kaushal revealed that he eagerly pursued the cameo role upon learning about it. He admitted to accepting the role without having full knowledge of the script, indicating his trust and confidence in Hirani’s vision.
The opportunity arose during a conversation between Kaushal’s father, Sham Kaushal, who was working on the project with Hirani, and the director himself. During discussions about a scene involving a character engulfed in flames, Hirani expressed his desire for someone like Vicky to play the part, albeit considering it too small for the actor. Upon learning of this exchange, Kaushal promptly reached out to Hirani, affirming his willingness to participate in any capacity, even if it meant a minor, unnoticed role. Thus, Vicky Kaushal secured the role of Sukhi in ‘Dunki.’
Regarding the film itself, ‘Dunki’ delves into themes of friendship and cross-border adventures. Starring Sharh Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar, and other talented actors, the movie hit theaters on December 21, 2023, before becoming available for online streaming in February.
