In a nostalgic moment, Abhay Deol, the versatile actor of Bollywood, recently reflected on the 19th anniversary of the classic film ‘Soch Na Tha,’ which marked his debut in the industry. Sharing his sentiments on his official Instagram handle, Deol expressed that the milestone feels like it happened just yesterday.
Accompanying his reflections, Abhay Deol posted the poster of ‘Soch Na Tha’ and wrote, “On this day, 19 years ago, I made my debut in the film ‘Socha Na Tha.’ It still feels like it was only yesterday! It’s been quite the learning curve—how innocent and naive we were.” He went on to express contentment with not conforming to market demands and refraining from molding himself into a brand through endorsements and PR.
Deol acknowledged the evolution of his career, saying, “But here I am, 19 years later, still making movies. I cannot be more grateful. And I did become a brand through the film choices I made. I faced the successes and failures of my choices by myself.”
The Bollywood star, reflecting on his journey, stated, “Following my heart has taught me many valuable lessons. I wouldn’t change a thing, because I wouldn’t be the man I am today, so comfortable in his skin.” Ending on a humorous note, he added, “Although I do wish I’d gotten my own stylist for the movie, and someone to tell me that my sideburns made me look like a 70’s p@rn st@r!”
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, ‘Soch Na Tha’ is a romantic comedy that narrates the story of a boy compelled to meet a girl for an arranged marriage. The film remains a significant chapter in Abhay Deol’s cinematic journey.
