Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recently opened up about a challenging and painful experience he faced during the filming of the 1996 action film ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’. Speaking on the ‘BeerBiceps’ podcast, Kumar recalled suffering a slipped disc while performing a daring stunt for the movie.
In a memorable fight sequence, Kumar’s character had to lift a wrestler portraying the role of Undertaker. Weighing an impressive 192 kilograms, the wrestler presented a significant challenge for the actor. Despite the daunting task, Kumar took on the challenge with determination, stating, “I lifted him, I was mad.”
However, the strenuous stunt took a toll on Kumar’s back, resulting in a slipped disc just three days later. Reflecting on the incident with humor, Kumar quipped, “I and my back remember the film vividly.”
Interestingly, as the film ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021, Kumar revealed that it was wrestler Brian Lee, not the legendary Undertaker (Mark William Calaway), who played the character in the film. This disclosure prompted a playful response from Undertaker, who jokingly challenged Kumar to a “real match.” In response, the actor humorously cited concerns about his insurance.
Directed by Umesh Mehra, ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ was the fourth installment in the popular Khiladi series and featured a star-studded cast including Raveena Tandon and Rekha in pivotal roles.
