In a startling incident early Sunday morning, shots were fired at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, located in Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Two unidentified individuals on a motorbike reportedly opened fire at the actor’s home around 5 am. Mumbai Police officials have confirmed that three rounds were fired outside Khan’s residence.
The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch quickly responded to the scene and has initiated an investigation into the matter. Security was immediately heightened outside the actor’s residence following the incident. A forensic team was also present at the scene to gather evidence. Video footage from the site showed a member of the forensic team marking what appeared to be a bullet hole on the actor’s building wall. The individual was seen measuring the marked area and taking photographs.
Security personnel were observed assisting the forensic team in collecting evidence from the scene. The road outside Khan’s residence was marked with squares, presumably indicating where evidence from the shooting was found.
Police authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from the area and the surrounding locality in an effort to identify the perpetrators. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the alarming incident.
It is not yet confirmed whether the actor and his parents were present in the house at the time of the shooting. Salman Khan had received a death threat last year from the Punjab-based Lawrence Bishnoi gang and has since been spending most of his time at his Panvel residence. Both Khan and his father, Salim Khan, had received death threats last year, leading to them being granted additional security measures. Salman had also reportedly invested in a special bullet-proof car for added security.
In February 2024, Salman’s Y+ security was extended to cover his family due to ongoing threats. The actor recently made a public appearance on the occasion of Eid, dressed in a white kurta, and was seen waving to fans from his balcony with his father by his side.
