In a startling incident early Sunday morning, several shots were fired outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Mumbai. The Mumbai Police confirmed the incident and launched an immediate investigation.
The shooting, carried out by two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle, has left fans deeply concerned about the actor’s safety. This comes in the wake of multiple death threats Salman Khan has received over the past year.
Outraged fans took to social media to express their frustrations and question the security provided to the superstar. “@mieknathshinde, what is going on? Where is the security?” one fan tweeted, while another demanded, “How can this happen in Mumbai? Where’s the security @mieknathshinde @MumbaiPolice?”
Other fans urged the police to swiftly apprehend the culprits, with one writing, “Dear #MumbaiPolice, arrest them as early as possible and catch the mastermind of this attack quickly. We’re praying for the safety of our beloved megastar #SalmanKhan.”
The incident prompted an outpouring of support for Salman Khan on social media, with fans urging him to “stay safe” and expressing their love and concern for the actor.
According to police reports, the assailants fired three rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence at around 5 am. The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has initiated an investigation into the matter.
Security for Salman Khan was significantly enhanced in February 2024 due to persistent death threats. He was provided with Y-plus security, which was further strengthened following a fresh threat in November 2023. Earlier this year, security measures were also extended to include the actor’s family, including his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma. Salman, who has been under constant security surveillance since receiving a death threat from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, recently acquired a bulletproof vehicle for his protection.
Despite maintaining a low public profile, Salman Khan made a traditional appearance on the occasion of Eid to greet his fans who had gathered outside his residence.
