In a recent cinematic release, RJ Balaji starrer ‘Singapore Saloon,’ written and directed by Gokul of ‘Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ fame, made its debut on January 25, 2024, receiving a diverse range of responses from the audience. The comedy-drama, characterized by Gokul’s distinctive style, presents a coming-of-age narrative centered around a young man with ambitious aspirations.
RJ Balaji, who takes on the role of a hairstylist in the film, dedicated considerable time to training under professional hairstylists for approximately one-and-a-half months to authentically portray his character. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead, while Sathyaraj, Lal, Kishen Das, Ann Sheetal, Thalaivasal Vijay, John Vijay, and Robo Shankar contribute in supporting roles. Additionally, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Jiiva make cameo appearances in the film.
The musical composition for ‘Singapore Saloon’ is crafted by the duo Vivek–Mervin, with Javed Riaz responsible for the background score. Following its theatrical release earlier this year, the film is now available for streaming on the popular OTT platform, Prime Video.
