In its first week at the box office, “Pavi Caretaker,” directed by Vineeth Kumar and starring Dileep, struggled to make a significant impact. According to a report by Sacnilk, the film managed to earn approximately ₹5.3 crore in India net by the end of its seventh day in theaters.
On Thursday, May 2, which marked its seventh day, the film’s net collection in India was recorded at ₹22 lakh. The overall Malayalam occupancy rate for the film on Thursday was a mere 15.96%, indicating a poor audience turnout compared to other films in theaters. Morning shows saw as low as 6.20% occupancy, while night shows peaked at 31.01%.
Despite featuring notable actors like Johny Antony, Radhika Sarathkumar, and Dharmajan in significant roles, “Pavi Caretaker” failed to garner much attention from audiences. The film, which hit theaters on April 26, received mixed reviews from critics. ETimes rated it 3 out of 5, describing it as a typical Dileep vehicle with elements of slapstick humor, emotions, romance, and action reminiscent of ’90s movies. Dileep’s performance was praised for its charm, particularly in emotional and comedic scenes.
With its downhill performance observed on Wednesday, the future of “Pavi Caretaker” at the box office remains uncertain, with upcoming days crucial for its success.
