In a heartwarming gesture, the farming community is set to honor Darshan Thoogudeepa on Republic Day, January 26. The acclaimed actor, known for his deep connection to farming, animals, and rustic living, recently garnered praise for his portrayal of a farmer facing challenges in the agricultural sector in his latest film, “Kaatera.”
Expressing gratitude for the upcoming felicitation, Darshan remarked, “I’m grateful for their honor, and the fact that it’s being planned on January 26 is all the more special. I have a lot of respect for our raitharu (farmers), and to be appreciated by them truly means a lot.”
The actor, who spent Sankranti at his Mysuru farm with family, shared insights into his passion for farming. He revealed, “I have bulls, cows, and buffaloes along with other animals. When I am there, I leave my car behind and roam around on a bullock cart. I can’t claim to do the kind of work our farmers do, but I love being in touch with the soil and staying close to nature as much as possible.” Darshan emphasized the importance of staying connected to the roots and highlighted the significance of the farming community’s recognition on this special occasion.
