In a recent event in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan, known for his romantic on-screen persona, shared insights into his upcoming collaboration with renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani in the much-anticipated film ‘Dunki.’
After showcasing his versatility in the action genre with ‘Pathaan’ and the blockbuster ‘Jawan,’ Shah Rukh Khan is set to redefine his on-screen presence in ‘Dunki.’ The film, featuring Taapsee Pannu opposite Khan and also starring Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani, marks the first collaboration between Khan and Hirani.
During the event, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement about ‘Dunki,’ stating, “Jab humne film dekhi toh humko lagaa ke Raju Hirani sahab ne pehli baar love story banaa di hai which spans ages (We thought Raju has made a love story for the first time). It’s a very touching film.”
The actor highlighted Hirani’s unique approach to storytelling, blending social messages with humor and emotions. Khan revealed that ‘Dunki’ is a departure from Hirani’s usual style, delving into the realm of timeless love. Despite being tight-lipped about specific details, Khan assured that the film explores the depth of emotions associated with love for family, friends, and personal relationships.
Commenting on Hirani’s trailer strategy, Khan stated, “But Raju doesn’t like to show much of his movie in trailers, as he likes you to come to theatres and witness it.” This approach builds anticipation for the film’s release on December 21.
While ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’ were projects undertaken for the audience, Shah Rukh Khan emphasized that ‘Dunki’ holds a special place in his heart. He disclosed, ” ‘Dunki’ is something very personal to me. I decided to do this film for myself.”
