Actor Sunny Hinduja, known for his roles in popular web series such as “Aspirants” and “The Railway Men,” is set to venture into the world of Malayalam cinema with the upcoming fantasy comedy film “Hello Mummy.” Directed by Vaishakh Elans and featuring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sharafudeen in lead roles, the film’s shooting is currently underway in Thrissur.
Expressing his enthusiasm for Malayalam cinema, Hinduja remarked, “I’m a big, big fan of Malayalam films; always have been. I love the progressive content that is made here and I’m really excited to be a part of this film.” He particularly praised films like “Joji,” “Trance,” “Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey,” and “The Great Indian Kitchen,” along with several others.
Hinduja shared insights into his involvement with the project, stating, “I believe that I don’t choose scripts, but scripts choose me and I feel this is what happened on this project. Vaishakh was keen to take me on and for me, it was a no-brainer to take it on and step into this industry that I have admired.” He added that his character in the film adds a unique dimension to its genre, with his dialogue delivery primarily comprising a mix of Malayalam and Hindi.
Reflecting on his familiarity with Malayali culture, Hinduja mentioned his interactions with Malayali acquaintances during his time at FTII and growing up in Dubai, which helped him grasp the nuances of the language.
Speaking about his experience on set, Hinduja emphasized the warmth and camaraderie among the team, describing it as akin to being at home. “There is a lot of love and care on sets, which is important for me while shooting, and this place is full of that,” he said.
