Renowned actor Suriya, who was unfortunately abroad during the funeral of the legendary actor Vijayakanth, returned to Chennai on January 5. Without delay, he headed straight to Vijayakanth’s gravesite to offer his final respects. Overcome with emotion, Suriya broke down in tears while praying at the late actor’s grave, highlighting the personal connection between the two.
After paying his tribute, Suriya addressed the press and shared heartfelt memories of his time with Vijayakanth. Their deep friendship became evident as Suriya emotionally reminisced about their shared past. Suriya spoke highly of Vijayakanth’s character, describing him as a kind and generous person, emphasizing that the late actor is irreplaceable.
Expressing condolences to Vijayakanth’s family, Suriya welcomed the decision to name the Nadigar Sangam after the veteran actor. Notably, Suriya and Vijayakanth had collaborated in the 1999 Tamil film ‘Periyanna,’ showcasing a mutual respect for each other. Vijayakanth even made a special appearance in Suriya’s ‘Maayavi,’ refusing any remuneration for his cameo.
