In a Sankranti spectacle, four major Telugu films hit the screens, with Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’ and Teja Sajja’s ‘Hanu Man’ making their debut yesterday. Today marks the release of Venkatesh Daggubati’s ‘Saindhav,’ leaving only Nagarjuna’s ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ scheduled for the big screen premiere tomorrow, January 13.
Despite the heightened anticipation and buzz surrounding this cinematic clash, the films seem to coexist without directly impeding each other’s progress. Each movie unfolds a distinct storyline catering to diverse genres. ‘Guntur Kaaram’ and ‘Hanu Man’ have already secured their positions, with ‘Guntur Kaaram’ claiming victory by raking in Rs 40 crore at the box office on its opening day, boasting a 70% occupancy. As it continues its successful run on the second day, the release of ‘Saindhav’ appears to have had minimal impact on its performance.
Following ‘Saindhav,’ Nagarjuna’s ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ is poised to grace theaters tomorrow, with expectations of a Rs 10 crore box office reception. The much-discussed four-way clash during the Sankranti festival has generated significant buzz, yet all four films are anticipated to enjoy a successful run during the Pongal celebrations.
