Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced on his Instagram handle this afternoon that he will begin charging for work meetings due to the considerable amount of time they consume without yielding significant results. Kashyap expressed his frustration, stating, “I wasted a lot of time trying to help newcomers and mostly ended up with mediocre work. So now onwards, I don’t want to waste my time with meeting random people who think they’re creative geniuses.” To address this issue, he introduced a fee structure for meetings, with rates set at 1 lakh for a 10-15 minute meeting, 2 lakhs for half an hour, and 5 lakhs for one hour. His caption read, “Don’t text or DM or call me. Pay and you will get time. I am not a charity and I am tired of people looking for shortcuts.”
In other news, Anurag Kashyap is set to make his Malayalam debut in Aashiq Abu’s upcoming film ‘Rifle Club’. The film’s first schedule has commenced at Mundakkayam in Kottayam. Alongside Kashyap, the cast includes Dileesh Pothan, Vishnu Agasthya, Vani Viswanath, Vijayaraghavan, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Unnimaya Prasad. Kashyap is rumored to portray a negative role in the film. Confirming his Malayalam debut, the director Aashiq Abu shared an announcement video on his social media, stating, “Announcing my first Malayalam film as an actor with Ashiq Abu. Looking forward to being part of this great moment in Malayalam cinema.”
Furthermore, a new film titled ‘Madgaon Express’ has credited Salman Khan, Anurag Kashyap, and Rohit Shetty. Details regarding their involvement in the project have not been disclosed yet.
During the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in December, Anurag Kashyap, who was attending the screening of his film ‘Kennedy’, had hinted at his Malayalam debut. ‘Rifle Club’, which is targeting an Onam release, will see Aashiq Abu taking on the role of cinematographer once again.
