In a significant move, acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has expanded his horizons by stepping into the world of production. His inaugural venture involves the distribution of the upcoming Tamil film ‘Fight Club,’ the teaser of which was unveiled at a lavish event in Chennai on Saturday.
During an interaction with the media, Kanagaraj shed light on his motivation for delving into production. He credited his early success to the support and encouragement of friends who played a pivotal role in his journey, ultimately leading to his directorial debut with ‘Maanagaram.’
Keen on reciprocating the support he received, Kanagaraj expressed his commitment to producing and distributing films for his circle of friends and associates through his newly established production house. Notably, he emphasized a focus on content over monetary gains, underlining his dedication to quality filmmaking.
Sharing insights into a missed opportunity, Kanagaraj revealed that a collaboration with Vijay Kumar in a lead role didn’t materialize due to unforeseen circumstances. However, he expressed joy in reconnecting with Kumar through the much-anticipated ‘Fight Club.’
Directed by Abbas Rahmath and featuring Vijay Kumar in the lead, the film, set to hit theaters on December 15, promises an action-packed narrative. The teaser has already generated considerable buzz, setting the stage for a clash with Vaibhav’s ‘Aalambana’ at the box office.
As Lokesh Kanagaraj takes on the dual role of filmmaker and producer, the industry awaits the impact of his creative vision on the production landscape.
