Prominent South Indian actor Prakash Raj, known for his versatile performances in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films, recently opened up about his film choices and controversies surrounding his political remarks. In a media interaction in Bengaluru, the actor admitted to taking up certain films in his career purely for financial reasons.
During a conversation with Film Companion, Prakash Raj candidly stated that he has accepted roles in some “stupid movies” solely for monetary gain. He emphasized that if he can overact, he can also deliver quality performances and doesn’t hold a grudge against commercial films. According to the actor, these films resonate well with the audience and require an equal amount of effort.
Interestingly, Prakash Raj also mentioned that there were instances where he acted in films without charging any remuneration. He clarified that his decision to accept a film is based on whether the compensation is significant or not. The actor acknowledged that not everyone would understand his choice of films, but he sees them as learning experiences in his acting career.
Recently seen in the Telugu film ‘Guntur Kaaram’, Prakash Raj has several upcoming projects in the pipeline. Fans can look forward to his performances in ‘Devara’, ‘OG’, and ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, all slated for a theatrical release this year.
