In the recent Vishu box office showdown, Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Aavesham’ has emerged as the clear winner over Dhyan Sreenivasan’s ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ in terms of collections.
According to the latest figures from the Sacnilk website, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ collected approximately Rs 1.15 crore on its twelfth day at the box office. Meanwhile, ‘Aavesham’ continued its impressive performance, raking in a substantial Rs 3 crore on the same day.
Despite a promising start, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ struggled to keep up with the success of ‘Aavesham.’ The film had a decent run at the box office in its initial 11 days, accumulating an estimated Rs 28.90 crore in net collections in India.
Analyzing the occupancy rates, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 23.81% on Monday, April 22, 2024. The morning shows saw a modest 14.85% occupancy, which slightly increased to 21.09% during the afternoon shows. As the day progressed, the evening shows witnessed a marginal rise in occupancy to 24.29%, and the night shows experienced a notable surge, reaching 34.99%.
Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ is a period comedy-drama set against the backdrop of the South Indian film industry during the 1970s and ’80s. The multi-starrer film follows the journey of two young men as they leave their hometown to chase their dreams of making it big in the world of cinema.
