In the face of stiff competition from recent major releases like ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ and ‘Aavesham’, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Aadujeevitham’ has seen a decline in its box office performance. According to reports from the Sacnilk website, the film managed to collect a modest Rs 38 lakhs on its 26th day, bringing its total Indian box office collections to Rs 81.48 crores.
Despite its initial success and critical acclaim, ‘Aadujeevitham’ appears to be struggling to maintain its momentum with the arrival of high-profile releases. The film recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 20.93% on Monday, April 22, 2024, which indicated a dip in audience turnout compared to previous days. The morning shows had a relatively low occupancy of 8.64%, which saw a slight increase during the afternoon shows to 19.65%. However, the evening and night shows showed a more promising turnout with occupancies of 24.08% and 31.33%, respectively.
Directed by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ portrays the real-life story of Indian migrant worker Najeeb Muhammed, who embarks on a journey to Saudi Arabia in search of a better life but finds himself trapped in a grueling existence herding goats in the desert.
