Speaking to E! during the event, Domingo shared his motivation behind his choice, stating, “Everything I do, I feel like it’s gotta be for the culture. It’s gotta be more than just for me.” He expressed his desire to honor the legacies of Boseman and Talley, highlighting their significant contributions to fashion and culture.
Designed by Willy Chavarría, Domingo’s suit not only paid homage to the theme of the gala but also included a bouquet of lilies, staying true to the event’s aesthetic. Expressing his excitement about attending the gala, Domingo mentioned his anticipation of meeting Cardi B, jokingly remarking, “I think I might just expire right there at the table.”
