In a recent interview, actor Raj Deepak Shetty shared insights into his journey in the film industry, revealing that although he initially aimed to play hero roles, circumstances led him to portray negative characters. The actor expressed his satisfaction in bringing life to compelling antagonists, emphasizing the importance of adding nuance to each role.
Despite signing on for two new films in Tollywood, Shetty acknowledged the differences in audience reach between Sandalwood and Tollywood, emphasizing the equal technical standing of every film industry.
Remaining passionate about Kannada cinema, Shetty, a proud Kannadiga, expressed his desire to continue working in more Kannada films. He discussed his aspiration to achieve the versatility demonstrated by actors like Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, recognizing that solely playing villains could become monotonous.
Currently basking in the success of “Hanuman,” Shetty is gearing up for his role in the upcoming film “Burma,” directed by Chethan Kumar. The actor highlighted the character’s complexity, crafted by Kumar, describing him as cunning and sophisticated. Although the character won’t involve extensive fight sequences, Shetty plans to convey his fierceness through mannerisms and body language.
