In a recent development, director Siddharth Anand highlighted the remarkable success of the film ‘Fighter,’ underscoring its box office triumph despite facing constraints. The movie, known for its aerial action drama, has managed to excel at the ticket counters despite not having a pan-India release and facing a ban in Gulf countries.
Siddharth Anand responded to a tweet on Saturday, acknowledging the challenges the film overcame. The tweet stated, “Don’t Forget #Fighter is just a Hindi release Non Pan India movie and banned in all the Gulf countries! #HrithikRoshan. Still 100 Cr in 2 Days.” Siddharth simply responded with “True Story (bicep emoji),” confirming the authenticity of the information.
Addressing a fan’s concern on social media, Siddharth Anand was questioned about the absence of a release in Tamil, Telugu, or Kannada. The user pointed out the significant fan following of Hrithik Roshan in the South and suggested that ‘Fighter’ content might have resonated well with the audience in those regions.
‘Fighter’ boasts a star-studded cast, including Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi in lead roles. The film, released on January 25 ahead of Republic Day, revolves around the narrative of a new and elite unit, Air Dragons, commissioned by the Air Headquarters in response to militant activities in the Srinagar Valley.
