Renowned actress Rakhee Gulzar, portraying the lead role in the upcoming film “Aamar Boss,” has successfully concluded filming in Kolkata. Directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the veteran actress has left a lasting impression on her co-stars, who shared insights into their experience working with her.
Srabanti, who plays the character Mousumi in the film, expressed gratitude for being considered for the role and mentioned receiving valuable acting tips from Rakhee. “I feel blessed and lucky that the director duo considered me for the character Mousumi. She gave me so many acting tips which will help me in my acting career,” said Srabanti.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the co-director, praised Rakhee’s spontaneity, noting that her first takes were often her best. He highlighted her ability to utilize props on set, adding a special touch to every scene. Despite her veteran status, Rakhee’s commitment to preparation was evident, with Mukherjee revealing that she would rehearse every scene and consult with the cinematographer, Indranath Marik, about camera lenses.
Sharing her experience, Srabanti revealed that working with Rakhee made her parents elated, as they are both fans of the veteran actor. Despite initial nervousness on the first day of shooting, Srabanti appreciated how Rakhee made her feel comfortable on set.
Sauraseni Maitra, reflecting on Rakhee’s iconic portrayal of Durga in “Karan Arjun” (1995), emphasized the actress’s ability to give space to her co-actors, showcasing her security as an artist. Maitra recalled being captivated by Rakhee’s performance in the film and later discovering the extensive list of hit films in her repertoire.
Shruti Das, another actor in the film, shared that Rakhee often reminisced about her childhood in Nadia. Das highlighted Rakhee’s preference for a natural look, encouraging her co-stars to embrace minimal makeup.
